The Asiatic Company Buildings, Copenhagen (2009) Oil on paper, 10.2x15.2cm Falmouth Art Gallery Visiting Copenhagen only some weeks after seeing the Vilhelm Hammershøi exhibition at the Royal Academy in 2008, I was able to replicate the compostion of his painting of the same view from 1902- which, incidentally, Hammershøi also painted from a photograph although he lived on the same street (Strandgade) at the time. ©copyright 2018 Nicholas Middleton |
